Welcome to Art for Change
Art changes lives. It is both a powerful means of expression and a recognized means of income – two things our participants badly need in their lives. The Art for Change Trust, a registered non profit organization set up by husband and wife team, Murali and Preeya Nair works to transform the lives of struggling social groups in India by offering them the opportunity to express themselves through an artistic means.
The Art for Change Trust will work to cultivate creativity, create an atmosphere of inclusion for groups that are often cast out and ignored, and encourage social change through art. The Art for Change Trust will also work to educate art and create much needed awareness among countless people whose standard of living can be made much better. We do this primarily through national and international collaborations. It is important to us that the art pieces created as part of these collaborations are showcased within a broader community to further share the artists' messages and their communal needs. This is done with close collaboration with our sister concern The Cornerhouse gallery.
In essence, Art for Change Trust will strive to act as a vital link between artistic and social discourse, proving that art truly does have the power to transform both artist and the society.
