Flying Elephant Films, a company registered in England, produces a diverse range of quality documentary and fictional programmes, giving voice to a wide spectrum of experiences and characters from across the globe.
Broadcasting to terrestrial television and cinema, the company was formed in 1997 by husband and wife team Preeya and Murali Nair.
The company has produced a variety of popular television programmes for British television which transport the viewer on a whistle-stop tour of the world, lending humanity and personality to the chosen subject matter.
The most recent programmes are Crossing , Play! , and Quamar- Working to live.Crossing forms part of series of short films made by known film makers from all over the world to mark the 60th anniversary of Human Rights declaration by the UN.
Quamar- Working to live is about a child living in the city of Old Hyderabad in India. This film was nominated for the coveted BAFTA . The film has won many major awards. Please visit our documentary section for more details.
The company also has to its credit three internationally acclaimed feature films set in India: Throne of Death which won the prestigious Camera d'Or award at Cannes Film Festival in 1999, A Dog's Day and Arimpara. and

A Hindi feature film, VIRGIN GOAT, and another documentary HEAR MY CRY is currently under post production.
Flying Elephant also runs a children's film club in Hyderabad showing films from around the world to children. In 2008 we collaborated with Maikki Kantola, a Finnish animator, to host a five day animation workshop for children. Ekki Dokhi one of the films produced in this workshop has won an award at the just concluded 8th annual shortie film awards in Washington DC.
Flying Elephant Films own a subsidiary, Maya Films, in India and are branching into production of animation programmes there. Apart from production, Flying Elephant Films facilitate location and post production services for films in India.
